About the Event

Music, storytelling and dance

Music, storytelling and dance are a fundamental part of life and have the power to transport children to different places to become someone or something else. The dramatic arts through voice, poetry, stories, rhymes, chants, puppets, music and dance should be embedded in the curriculum every day. This can be intimidating for those with no background in this topic. Louise believes if you can move you can dance, if you can breathe you can sing.

This practical workshop will give you the skills you need to be able to use simple culturally diverse props and incorporate music, dance and storytelling in your pedagogy.

  • investigate beat and rhythm with children of all abilities
  • learn simple rhymes, raps and rhythms
  • discover simple props and resources
  • tell stories without books.
